Born out of our love for the heritage temple sites in the archipelago, we visited, studied, wrote and shared the beauty and wisdom contained in these temples. These thousand-year-old masterpieces are full of wisdom, waiting to be discovered through the lens of beautiful sculptures found in these sites.

Our writing is about the knowledge we have learnt from exploring these temples and unravelling the said wisdom. While this website is called Reading Borobudur, we do not only write about Borobudur, but also other temples in the archipelago.

We realise that there will be arguments and differing opinions regarding the contents we publish. These debates are reasonable, because as the wise has said, that the more we know, there will be much more that we do not know. Hence, we strongly encourage you to provide us with feedback so that we can improve ourselves and engage with you better. We hope that this website will benefit us all through enlightenment from the long-lasting heritage of wisdom.
